NIFDA to hold post-Brexit consultations

The Northern Ireland Food and Drink Association (NIFDA) is holding a series of breakfast meetings for its members to discuss issues faced by the local food and drink industry post-Brexit.

NIFDA Executive Director Michael Bell said: “There can be no doubt that Brexit will have a significant impact on our agri-food sector, and we are keen to hear the views of our members and the wider industry on what they see as the priorities moving forward.

“The feedback garnered at this series of events will form an important part of a specially commissioned report which NIFDA is compiling in conjunction with Deloitte, the results of which will be presented at the upcoming Appetite for Growth conference on Thursday 22nd September at Craigavon Civic Centre.

“This piece of research will be a valuable tool for impressing on Stormont and Westminster the importance of negotiating the right terms for our industry when it comes to leaving the EU,” he concluded.

The NIFDA Breakfast meetings, hosted by Chairperson Declan Billington, will be held on 23rd  August at Loughry Innovation Centre, Cookstown; 25th August at the Seagoe Hotel, Craigavon, and on Friday, 9th September at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Belfast.
